Washington Mail Voting Unchanged in 2026

The U.S. Supreme Court has kept in place a lower-court injunction blocking new U.S. Postal Service requirements for mail ballots through Nov. 3. The decision means the proposed requirements will not take effect during the 2026 midterm election.

For Washington members, the practical takeaway is straightforward: the state’s established vote-by-mail process remains unchanged. Washington election officials can continue their existing preparations without implementing new federal requirements for ballot envelopes or voter information.
